Warming Up Towards the 4th

We are getting closer and closer to the holiday weekend, and along with it, the temperatures begin to rise once again. Slightly warmer than yesterday today with highs in the mid-80s. Mostly sunny, with little to no winds today, which is a lot different than yesterday. Dew points will remain low, meaning no humidity. Yesterday and today’s temps are slightly lower than average, but hey, we’ll take it!

Tonight will once again be in the upper 50s to low 60s with some clouds and little winds.

The temperatures throughout the day today.

Next Few Days

Tomorrow will be very similar to today, with highs in the mid-80s as well. Less clouds than today though, and a little more wind as the day goes on. Because of the high-pressure system that will be leaving off the coast by tomorrow, humidity begins to slip in and take over. Nighttime will be cloudy, and warmer than tonight with the low around 64 degrees.

Now for the important stuff: The Fourth. A surface low will move in Thursday, bringing a warm front along with it on Wednesday night. It will then be followed by a cold front that will bring us warmer temps, and higher dew points (yes, cold fronts don’t always mean cold temps!!). Mostly sunny for the morning and early afternoon, with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, with little winds.

However, there will be a chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms for the late afternoon to early evening. These storms should not cause a washout for the day, and shouldn’t be severe either, but could bring some flash flooding in some areas.

Nighttime will be humid and warm with lows around 70 degrees. Chance of storms will also continue throughout the night.

The Shore

Not much happening at the shore today, with light winds, low wave height barely reaching 2 ft, and a low rip current risk. Temperatures still colder than normal, barely reaching 68 degrees. Rip currents should remain low for tomorrow, and wave height should increase to normal again, around 2 to 3 ft.

Temperatures at The Shore today, a lot cooler than normal.

Tropical Activity

Hurricane Beryl keeps beryling through the Caribbean (sorry I had to)! Jokes aside, this hurricane has turned into a category 5 overnight. This is the earliest a hurricane has been named a cat 5 ever!

Beryl hit the Windward Islands yesterday and now has Jamaica in its path. It will hit in the afternoon tomorrow, and continue to make landfall on the Cayman Islands and Mexico as the week progresses.

The group of storms far east of the Windward Islands has had a reduction in chance of forming within the next week, down to 30%. Conditions are starting to weaken.

Short week, almost over! Enjoy your day!
