South Jersey Sizzles On!

Today

Hopefully, everyone had a happy holiday weekend! Unfortunately, we turn into our 3rd day of the heat wave that looks like it will persist for at least the next few days. Today will be hot and sunny, with highs in the upper 90s around Philadelphia, and mid to low 90s near the coast. Light winds and humid dew points will cause the heat index to reach 100 degrees or higher. Some pop-up storms in the early evening are expected as well, mainly southeast of I95 and approaching the AC expressway.

Mostly cloudy tonight, with light winds as well. Hot and humid, with lows in the 70s.

Temperatures for the next 12 hours, mainly in the mid 90s.

Next Few Days

Brace yourselves for a hot few days. Tomorrow will be very similar to today, with the same temperatures and conditions. Hot, humid, and sunny, with highs possibly reaching triple digits. Heat index values could get as high as 102 degrees. A chance for some storms in the early evening as well, mainly along the coast near Cape May. Hot and humid at night as well, with little winds, and lows in the 70s. There will also be a chance of some storms.

Wednesday will be slightly cooler with more clouds. Hopefully, this will be the end of the heat wave, but temps could increase for Wednesday in the next few days. Highs in the mid-90s, and winds increasing to 10-15 mph. Chance of thunderstorms throughout the day and into evening hours.

Forcast for the week, with temps getting up there for tomorrow.

The Shore

Some sea fog will continue throughout the day today, with a marine dense fog advisory in effect until 1 pm (and could be extended). Light winds for the beach around 10 mph, and average wave heights between 2 and 3 ft. Low rip current risk today.

Tropical Activity

Beryl has made landfall on Texas this morning, as it has increased to a hurricane once again. It is weak, with max wind speeds currently at 75 mph. However, still causing some issues of flooding in the area. Beryl will continue its path through the central US throughout the week. Although we may not witness any remnants directly, the storms and low-pressure system could cause us to see some storm activity for Thursday into Friday, and the rest of the weekend.

Stay cool out there!
