Arctic air intruding into the lower 48 is the reason temperatures are so cold today, and will stay that way over the next week or so. The strong west to northwest breeze we are seeing this afternoon is not only transporting that arctic air in, but it is also making it feel even colder! Wind chills are down into the teens for most spots!
