Rain & cold for the day

Today

After an active day yesterday and some heat, in comes the cooler weather with lots and lots of rain. A cold front comes in today, giving us a high of only 79 degrees. Light winds and cloudy for most of the day with some spotty showers this afternoon and into the evening. Some of these storms could bring large amounts of rain. Chance of rain today is 60%. Some areas have a chance of seeing little to no rain, and others could see up to 2 inches of rain, it will be random!

Showers and thunderstorms are expected tonight, but the worst of it seems to be in North Jersey again. Mostly cloudy with a low of 68 degrees and light winds. Up to a half inch of rain is possible!

Nick shows us the chance of spotty and strong showers today.

Next Few Days

Showers likely to continue tomorrow, along with cloudy skies. The high for tomorrow will be the same as today of 79 degrees and winds between 5 and 10 mph. 70% chance of rain with up to a half inch of rain possible.

Nighttime will also see some showers and storms. A 70% chance of precip, with a low of 72 degrees and light winds.

Friday is when we will really start to see the remnants of tropical storm Debby; warmer and windier, with some rain once again. A high of 83 degrees with winds between 10 and 15 mph, and gusts up to 35 mph, sheesh! Friday and Saturday seem to be quite the washout, but we are not seeing the actual storm of tropical storm Debby.

The Shore

Light winds today at the shore, around 10 mph. Average wave heights around 2-3 ft, with a moderate rip current risk. Water temps are colder than normal, within the upper 50s to lower 60s (brrrr). Keep an eye out for thunderstorms on the beaches today!

Tropical Activity

Like we mentioned before, Debby seems to be missing us because her track is more inland, and will be west of us. However, because of the moisture from the low pressure system, that is why we will see excessive rainfall within the next few days.

Nick shows us Debby’s path, and how most of our area will miss it!

The system in the Gulf of Mexico has dropped its chances of formation significantly. However, it is a sign of some activity within the tropics just in time for hurricane season!

Enjoy your hump day!
