One More Hot One? AND Storms??

Yet another hot and humid day today! Temps will be in the mid to high 90s, with feels like temperatures possibly reaching triple digits. A heat advisory is in place for Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester Counties in NJ, and Philadelphia, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Bucks Counties for PA. Sunny throughout the day with some strong winds coming from the southwest, gusts up to 20 mph.

Feels like temps for today, mainly staying in the 90s.

The SPC has currently issued us under a slight risk for severe weather, although the worst of the storms are expected to hit North Jersey. When these storms will hit is the main question, but the wide window is between 5 pm and 11 pm. Timing is difficult, as models are counteracting one another. The heaviest of storms seem to hit at either 5 pm to 8 pm or late at night, around 11 pm. Storms will continue through out the night and may linger until early tomorrow morning.

Nighttime will be in the upper 60s to low 70s and will be humid. Less than an inch of rain is expected.

The outlook issued by the SPC today, shows that we are under a slight risk.

Next Few Days

High-pressure returns, bringing back fair and comfortable weather for the next few days.

Temps will finally get back to normal tomorrow, with a high of around 88 degrees, with low dew points (not humid!). Cloudy for most of the day, with sun peaking through in the late afternoon. Light winds turning to little to no winds at night, and clear by nightfall. Lows will be in the low 60s, for a beautiful and comfortable summer night.

Fair weather comes in for us tomorrow.

Friday will be very similar to Thursday; sunny, with temps in the low to mid 80s, and low dew points. Partly cloudy at night, with similar low temps as well. Rain is also on the radar for the early hours of Saturday.

Be on the lookout for this weekend, however, as scattered storms are expected for both Saturday and Sunday.

Because of the stronger winds between 15 and 20 mph, rip currents are at a high-risk today! Please watch where you are swimming, and listen to your lifeguards!

Waves between 3 and 4 ft today, with a risk for thunderstorms. Please leave the beaches if you hear thunder or see lightning!

Water temps in the upper 60s, with some beaches reaching 70 degrees.

Tropical Activity

Still not too active out there. The same group of disorganized storms in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico/western Caribbean is still not very strong. However, depending on conditions over the next few days, could produce more of a strong group of storms. There is still a low chance of formation as of now.

A tropical wave has formed a few hundred miles off the southwest coast of the
Cabo Verde Islands. It has no chance of forming anything within 48 hours but has a 30% chance of forming within 7 days.

Stay cool and safe out there!
