Leaving the Wave, and Entering the Storms!

Today

Finally, a break from the heat! After a long few days, we finally can enjoy some cooler temps. Sunny, with highs just around 90 degrees, and heat index values around the same as the actual temperature. Some winds as well, around 10 mph. Lower dew points than the past few days so will feel a lot less humid!

Partly cloudy tonight with little winds, and lows still uncomfortable in the low 70s. We could see some storms in the early evening, especially along the coast. The main time frame seems to be between 6 pm and 10 pm tonight. However, these storms are very much along the coast and have a chance to not actually make landfall.

Later in the night into tomorrow morning is a different story, however. Around 3 am storms will begin near the shore and the southern half of Jersey. They will increasingly become larger and move north throughout tomorrow morning. These storms seem to be pretty strong and organized, so watch out for flooding.

Tonight’s forecast, with storms throughout the night.

Next Few Days

Temperatures will drop a lot lower than we’ve been seeing for tomorrow, with highs around 85 degrees. Storms will linger throughout the morning, but become more spotty as time goes on. Should all clear out by around 2 pm, but will ramp back up again around 7 pm. The second round seems only to hit southeastern PA, DE, and southwestern NJ, but isolated storms within the area cannot be ruled out throughout the evening. Otherwise, lows around 70 degrees with low winds.

The SPC has issued a slight risk for our area tomorrow, which will bring us some t-storms.

Saturday will be mostly cloudy with highs in the mid-80s. Some winds between 5 and 10 mph. Some passing showers and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day, especially along the coast. However, hopefully looking at a beautiful sunny day on Sunday.

The Shore

Waves still larger than normal, between 2 and 4 ft. Winds continue to be on the stronger side, reaching up to 20 mph steadily. There is a moderate rip current risk today as well.

Tropical Activity

Hurricane Beryl has pretty much settled down completely, with the rest of it hitting us today into tomorrow. Like we mentioned before though, it is only the low pressure it has brought to us, and not the actual precipitation and other activity.

The tropical depression off the coast of Florida and Georgia has still made no development and still has a very low chance of forming.

Enjoy the cooler day today!
