Relief is on the way — but it’s only temporary.
It’s certainly going to feel like July over the next few days with dew points well into the 70s. A cold front will move across the area late Friday into early Saturday and bring a threat of showers and thunderstorms. With the atmosphere acting like a sponge, locally heavy rainfall is possible.

Once the cold front moves offshore by early Saturday morning, less humid air will move into the region. Saturday looks FANTASTIC with dew points in the 50s. This is the kind of air that you can actually BREATHE in, and not this hot, steamy, sticky sauna air!

Saturday will still be on the warm side (as expected for this time of year) with highs in the upper 80s on the mainland and lower 80s on the shore. Sunday will have slightly higher humidity levels, but still a very nice day in the 80s.

The heat and humidity will be back on the rise again as we head into early next week with highs in the 90s and dew points in the 70s.
It’s late July, so we will gladly take any relief that we can get, even if it only lasts a few days.
