Today
After a nice little break of comfortable weather and some rain, this week is ready to jump back into the HEAT. What is called a Bermuda High is moving into our area, which is a subtropical area of high pressure in the North Atlantic Ocean, per the NWS. This is what will possibly give us the hottest temperatures we have seen yet, with today’s high of 98 degrees, and feels like temperatures up to 105!! For this reason, we are currently under a heat advisory until Wednesday. Besides hot temps, mostly sunny with some winds between 5 and 15 mph.
Tonight will be uncomfortably warm, with lows in the high 70s, and staying in the 80s in some areas near the city. Storms are possible tonight as well, primarily between 10 pm and 12 am. However, most storms will remain in North Jersey.

Next Few Days
If you think today is hot, just wait for tomorrow. Highs will be in the low 100s near Philadelphia, with temps near the coast in the upper 90s. The feels-like temperatures could reach as high as 111 degrees!! Please plan for these dangerous conditions, and limit time outside as much as possible.
Tomorrow will have little winds between 5 and 10 mph. Storms are expected mainly between 5 and 10 pm and will continue to linger into the early hours of Wednesday morning. Nighttime lows will be slightly more tolerable in the low to mid-70s.
Wednesday will hopefully be the last of the heat wave, with highs in the mid to high 90s. Partly sunny and windy, with gusts up to 20 mph. Storms are also expected later in the afternoon, hopefully cooling us off by Thursday.
The Shore
Extreme fog has been reported along the coast this morning but should have dissipated by this time. If this is ever the case, make sure you are swimming directly in front of a lifeguard!
Windy today with gusts over 20 mph and higher than normal wave heights between 3 and 4 ft. Rip current risk remains moderate for these reasons. Tonight’s storms could produce some strong winds with gusts over 35 mph tonight, and frequent lightning.
Tropical Activity
Surprisingly, there is NO tropical activity whatsoever right now. This may be indicative of some stronger storms to form any day now, but we will keep an eye out!
Keep cool today!
