Today is one of those mornings you want to bottle up. Lower to middle 60s to start, genuinely comfortable. Doesn’t last, though. Humidity starts creeping back in through the afternoon and takes a bite out of how good it feels. Clouds and sun trading off most of the day, and there’s a stray thunderstorm possible out there somewhere. Nothing widespread. Just the kind that catches one town off guard while the next one over stays dry.
Mainland gets into the middle 80s, beaches a touch cooler in the lower 80s. Dew points creeping back toward 70, so yeah, muggy’s returning.
At the Beach
Pleasant day down the Shore. Rip current risk is low. Winds light, out of the south at 5 to 10 mph. Water’s sitting in the middle 70s, still very swimmable. High tide rolls through early, before 10:00 a.m., so plan around that.
Looking Ahead
Monday and Tuesday, more of the same. Warm, humid, can’t rule out a stray storm either day. Then Wednesday, things shift. A strong front comes through and opens the door for scattered strong thunderstorms, so that’s the day to actually keep an eye on.
And can we talk about how long severe season has stretched this year? It just will not quit.
Some spots west of the Parkway touch 90 for a good chunk of this week. Cooler air finally shows up by the end of it.
