We’ve been so lucky lately. The past couple days have been the kind of stretch you just don’t expect in late August, and honestly? We’ll take it. No complaints here.

Wednesday keeps that streak going. We’re starting out crisp, lower 60s, that clean early morning air. Skies run partly to mostly sunny and highs climb into the lower 80s this afternoon. Here’s the catch though, winds shift out of the south and southwest as the day rolls on, and that means humidity starts creeping back in. Dew points begin in the lower 60s but by daybreak Thursday they’re pushing close to 70. So enjoy the dry air while it lasts.

At the Beach

Low tide hits just after lunch. Winds stay light out of the south, five to ten miles per hour, which should actually help keep the bugs away. Skies partly to mostly sunny. UV index is running high, nine to ten, so safe sunshine is under 25 minutes if you’re not covered up or lotioned up. Water temps are comfy, good swimming conditions out there.

Overnight

We settle into the middle 60s overnight. Winds go calm. Clouds build back in as we head toward Thursday.

Looking Ahead

Thursday starts dry, but clouds fill in through the morning. There’s a rain chance northwest of Philly early, and that chance spreads into South Jersey by the afternoon. A few isolated strong to severe storms are possible, though most of that energy looks like it stays on the other side of the Delaware, sparing the bulk of our area. Still, we’re watching radar. Heavy downpours would be the main concern if anything fires up closer to us.

Friday’s still a bit unsettled, could see a leftover shower or two, but the weekend is shaping up nicely. Lower to middle 80s, partial sunshine, a solid end to the week. And then… we turn the corner into September with a few days flirting with 90. Summer’s not done with us yet.

Enjoy this stretch while it lasts, gang.
