A “wonderful Wednesday”? I’m gonna say yes. Dew points come down, humidity comes down with ’em… it’s not gonna be perfect, but it’s a step in the right direction. We finally get a break from the Amazon rainforest level humidity we’ve been dealing with. Dew points drop into the lower to middle 60s, partly sunny skies, and yeah, a pop-up thunderstorm can’t be ruled out later in the day. But nothing significant.
Here’s the thing though. Multiple pieces of energy are missing us, well to the southwest. That big derecho that tore through Iowa and Illinois yesterday? Missed us completely. We got lucky. There’s a boundary positioned to our south that’s been steering those storms away, and that setup holds again today. So outside of something spotty, we’re not looking at any big organized complexes rolling through. Highs climb into the middle 80s.
At the Beach
Decent day at the shore. Middle 80s on the sand. Could be some bugs though, thanks to that west wind… depends on the speed, of course. Low tide’s early afternoon, and rip current risk is low.
Overnight
We dip back into the middle 60s for lows tonight.
Looking Ahead
Humidity and heat come roaring back Thursday. Partly sunny, highs around 90 again. And looking toward next week, CPC has us running slightly above average. Nothing crazy, but upper 80s are on the docket.
Enjoy the break while it lasts!
