Today’s the day it starts feeling like soup out there. Dew points are climbing into the lower and middle 70s, and even with more clouds rolling in, it’s gonna feel hotter and stickier than the thermometer lets on. Highs push into the mid to upper 80s on the mainland, lower to middle 80s at the beaches. Winds turning out of the south too… which, fair warning, could mean a few more bugs blowing onto the sand than you’d like.

At the Beach

South wind Sunday could push some bugs toward the shore. Nothing dramatic, just something to know before you set up.

Most of Sunday should stay dry. But by evening, showers and a few thunderstorms start showing up, and that’s really just the opening act.

Overnight

Things ramp up Sunday night. This is where the pattern really shifts, multiple rounds of rain and storms moving in, setting the stage for a much more active Monday.

Looking Ahead

Monday’s the day to watch. Heavy rain is the headline. The atmosphere’s going to be loaded with moisture, so any storm that fires up could dump torrential rain in a short window. And because we’re looking at repeated rounds moving over the same areas, flash flooding becomes a real concern in spots. Right now the highest risk is across northern New Jersey and near and northwest of Philadelphia, but honestly, localized flooding is possible just about anywhere.

There’s also a chance for a few strong to severe storms Monday, mainly near and north of Philly. Damaging wind gusts are the main worry there, though how bad it gets depends on whether we get enough sun and instability squeezed in between the rounds of rain.

Both the shore and mainland are in for an unsettled Monday. It won’t rain the whole day straight through, but the timing matters a lot, so plan around periods of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and pockets of flooding. And zooming out a bit… this unsettled stretch may hang around for several more days next week, with afternoon and evening storm chances lingering. Monday just looks like the peak of it for now.
