The next stretch of unsettled weather starts TODAY. A piece of energy passes nearby this morning, sparking the chance for some spotty t-storms early. Most of you will NOT see one… but keep an eye out just in case.

Today’s Setup

We’re starting in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Expect clouds giving way to partly sunny skies through the afternoon. Dew points come up today, so it’s not nearly as dry an airmass as yesterday. Highs climb a bit warmer too, into the lower and middle 80s. Not overbearingly humid… but you’ll definitely notice it.

Those spotty t-storms stay possible through the heart of the day. Anything that bubbles up will die out toward the evening.

Headed to the Beach?

Partly sunny with mid and upper 70s on the sand. Winds shift out of the southeast, which keeps the bugs away (you’re welcome!) but also lets the rip current risk tick up, so swim smart. High tide is around 10am on the ocean front. Waves running 2 to 3 feet.

Tonight

As the humidity climbs, it won’t be as comfy overnight. Lows only get down into the mid and upper 60s.

Thursday: Steamy and Maybe Stormy

Thursday is looking steamy and maybe stormy. It all comes down to cloud cover in the morning. More clouds = LESS of a chance for storms. More sun = BIGGER chance for storms. We’ll be watching radar closely between 2 and 8pm for anything rolling through. WIND is the primary threat here, as the mid levels of the atmosphere have unusually strong winds for this time of year.

Friday and Beyond

Cooler, lower humidity moves in behind that front. Friday is the day to watch for rain from a remnant tropical low. The big question: how far north does that precip get allowed to climb? We’ll know more by tomorrow. And folks… we need rain DESPERATELY!!

For now, CPC still has us below normal. WPC shows some rain in the cards, but nothing that’s gonna cure this extreme drought just yet.

Stay tuned!
