Today will undoubtedly be the hottest day of the stretch, with highs reaching into the mid-, maybe even upper 90s. Humidity ticks up a little bit as we take full advantage of that southwest wind. Dew points get into the lower 60s, so you’ll notice it’s a little sticky out there at times.
Temps this morning are off to a mild start, well into the 60s. No issues on the roads.
This afternoon, look for clouds and sun to mix. There’s a chance of a spotty shower or storm early to mid-afternoon, and then around dinner a complex could roll through with a stronger storm or two. We’ll keep an eye on things through the day — downpours, lightning, and gusty winds are all possible with any cell that pops through. LESS of a chance toward the shore.
Heading to the beach? Water temps creep into the lower 60s. Partial sunshine with temps on the sand reaching the lower 80s. Some bugs are possible in the morning, then it should be bug-free in the afternoon with the sea breeze. UV index is high at a 10.
Looking ahead: Tomorrow remains unsettled with a spotty shower or storm possible — warm and muggy, upper 80s mainland, around 80 at the beaches. Temps take a step back early next week before we build into a BIG heatwave by the end of the week. Really hot, really humid stuff incoming.
