Good morning!

Happy Tuesday my friends! We are off to a chilly start this morning with some areas dropping into the upper 30s overnight thanks to low humidity, light winds, and limited cloud cover. Definitely a morning where you may have wanted the heavier sweatshirt stepping out the door.

The good news? We rebound in a BIG way today.

We are looking at a lovely, terrific Tuesday ahead across the region. The last couple of days have been a little underwhelming with extra clouds and scattered rain chances hanging around, but today is a completely different story. High pressure builds in overhead, bringing sinking air and much more stable conditions. Translation? Lots of sunshine and absolutely no rain concerns today.

Temperatures will climb into the lower 70s west of the Garden State Parkway this afternoon, while shore communities stay cooler in the mid and upper 60s thanks to that ocean influence. Winds gradually turn out of the southwest at around 10 to 15 mph ahead of our next approaching cold front, which should make for a really comfortable spring afternoon overall.

Tonight stays mild compared to recent nights with lows only dropping back into the 50s under mostly clear to partly cloudy skies.

Looking ahead to tomorrow, shower chances begin to return late in the day as the next front approaches from the west. Most of the daytime hours are fine, but a few showers could develop late and continue into Thursday morning.

Then the pattern flips in a big way heading toward the end of the week:

• Temperatures surge back into the 80s by Friday
• Warmth continues through the weekend and beyond
• Humidity gradually increases as the warmer pattern settles in
• Overall a much more summer-like feel develops heading into next week

To sum it all up, today is easily the pick of the week so far with sunshine, dry conditions, and comfortable temperatures. After a chilly start, we warm up nicely this afternoon before shower chances return late tomorrow. Then we crank the temperatures way up heading into the weekend with 80s making a comeback.
