Calm before the storm! Happy Friday my friend. We’ve got a nice start to the day with temps in the 50s and lower 60s. It’s sticky. Dew points are around 60 as well. This could come into play this afternoon when showers and storms are rolling through – VERY heavy downpours are possible. This is the type of setup we saw on Monday where a very isolated area picked up 4-7″ in just a few hours. Not saying it’s GOING to happen, but the potential for something like that to come together in our area today IS on the table.
By late morning / early afternoon we will have some storms coming out of PA and MD/Delmarva heading into our region. Any one of these storms could produce heavy rain, strong winds, frequent lightning and an isolated tornado. Not everyone is going to see severe weather, but the chance exists pretty uniformly across the board.
We should clear out around dinner, tonight looks fine. Tomorrow will be mainly dry but we run the risk of a lingering shower or storm on the wrap-around flow around the low as it departs northeast. Sunday looks great!
