We’ve got a VERY unpleasant day on tap across the region. We wake up to dry weather but scattered showers will develop through the course of the afternoon. The heavy stuff holds off until tonight.
This is all part of a major storm system that brought tornadoes to the deep south. This storm loses a lot of its severe weather energy BUT some rumbles of thunder are possible as well as strong winds.
Winds will be an issue tonight. After dinner I’m expecting 40-50mph gusts. Around midnight those gusts could exceed 50mph. These winds will be out of the SOUTHEAST which means excess water will be pushed ashore. Borderline MODERATE tidal flooding possible around the back bays by 7-8am on Saturday.
Rainwise it’s looking like most of it will be west of the parkway with the shore getting less, maybe 1/2″ to 3/4″.
Storm wraps up and pulls away for Saturday morning, SLOWLY improving conditions but falling temps for Sat afternoon.
